Since my blog is called The Trendy Gal, it is only fair to y'all that I share trends, especially trends that I am loving! Let me start out by saying, there have been a lot of funky trends lately that I just have not been able to hop on board with. You will not see me rocking low-rise baggy jeans, you just won't however, there are some trends that I have been loving that I wanted to share with y'all in today's post.
If you can't tell from the photos above, the 2 trends I have been absolutely loving are the shoulder pad and straight leg jeans trend. I am going to be honest with y'all I was a little hesitant about the shoulder pad trend. Growing up, my mom would always show me old pictures of her and she would talk about how in shoulder pads were at the time and I just thought it looked horrible. Now, I am ashamed (not really) to say that I love shoulder pads! Most of the time when I see this trend, I see shoulder pads in muscle-style tank tops and I think it looks so cute! What I love is that you can wear those styles of tanks from day to night!
Also, another thing I love is that these shoulder-padded tops look so darn cute tucked into straight-leg jeans which is another one of my go-to trends right now! Straight-leg jeans are the new "hot" jeans in town. All the kids these days are saying that skinny jeans are out and while I love my skinny jeans, straight-leg jeans are awesome as well! One thing I love is that for jeans, they are more breathable and easy to move in. What I mean is that for the longest time we have been rocking some tight pants, hence the name skinny jeans, and it is time that comfort plays a role in our wardrobe. Let's face it, I feel like most women don't like to wear jeans because the fabric isn't very stretchy and when we think of comfort or having to wear an outfit, most of us lean towards leggings over jeans. Well, lately I have found myself reaching for jeans over leggings lately because my straight-leg jeans are so comfy and they look nice too.
If you have been hesitant about these trends, I always love to encourage y'all to hop out of your comfort zone and try something new. I know how uncomfortable trying new things can be but I think y'all will really enjoy these 2 new trends! I linked my outfit for y'all below and a few tops and straight-leg jeans that I love for y'all below if you are feeling like trying this trend out! Let me know in the comments below what you think about these trends, yay or nay?
